(Written for my weekly challenge: threes. I was diagnosed with Osteoporosis last year, but due to other, more urgent health problems, treatment was put on hold. Reviewing the situation, my doctor referred me to a specialist, who said I have severe bone loss in my hip and am prime for a break. After a fight with third party insurance, I am finally on board to start a bone building drug. Ah, life! Image my own.)

  3. My mother has the same bone calcium affliction; however, she only has the universal yet limited public healthcare plan, which doesn’t cover any osteoporosis treatment medications.

    1. Sorry to hear about your mom. It’s very disconcerting to know that any slight jarring might cause a fracture. The drugs are expensive, I know. The drug company themselves helped me fight for coverage.

    1. Sorry to hear that Liz. It is a little disconcerting. My body rejected the first medication, and the physician has said that Prolia will work if no other does. I want to give the new med a shot (pun) first.

  18. VJ, got my fingers crossed for you. Getting through the struggle to GET the meds is a proof of strength beyond bones – bravo for your determination! May the new med do its thing w/o disrupting other things … and may you keep putting complex challenges into such digestible verse.

  25. I like the way you built this. Each stanza stands on its own, but the three stanzas give the bigger picture. I love the image, it would make a beautiful stained glass. Glad you got the medication you need!
