Try to hide this longing
but am as obstreperous
as a Blue Jay proclaiming presence.
Please know, that behind
awkwardness is a heart true
purity of intent incognito.
(Tuesdays I borrow from Twitter @Vjknutson. Image my own. As a child and into my dating years, I was called obnoxious. Now that connecting with others is limited, I am once again aware of how this over exuberant side of myself emerges from time to time.)
They are bullies. I have seen them in the woods stand up to an owl and make sure every other animal knew that owl was there.

True. I’ve also heard they will fly right into you, if you get between them and what you want.

I was in a field by where I live watching a hawk in a tree. It flew down to about 20 feet from me to try to get a mouse under the snow and grass. It was Oblivious to me

That’s a rush. We had a similar incident here with a falcon who had to turn sideways to miss my husband working in the yard.

yes the comparison is good with the jay but that word is rude, doubt you could fulfil it’s requirements 🙂

Ha ha ha. In my younger days, I certainly was. Hope I’ve outgrown it now.

As has been noted, the blue jay is a good choice for obstreperousness. Obstreperosity? Hope you’re having a fine start to winter!
