My fairy-tale-heart
dreamt of an Adonis
but his countenance
outshone my dull
Found instead
a Demogorgon
divide my time
between up and down
Like Persephone
I negotiate demonic
Hades darkness
enough for me.

Love the use of Greek myths. Really strong opening line. This is a poet’s poem, if that makes sense? It reminds me of reading something from the Renaissance, if it were updated to modern times.

I love the mythological references, V.J., and you present the drama of relationships many of us can recall from some time in our lives!
