The Colour of Change

I crave orange –
not the shade of deceit
oozing in political corners

I seek fiery tones
the hues of transformation
the promise beyond this cocoon.

Permission to write, paint, and imagine are the gifts I gave myself when chronic illness hit - a fair exchange: being for doing. Relevance is an attitude. Humour essential.

  1. Nicely written: “I seek fiery tones / the hues of transformation”. Reminds me Nietzsche: destruction can lead to creation or a better change, doesn’t always have to be a bad thing.

  2. Orange is such a vibrant, inviting colour, especially in this time of autumnal transformation. Blindly waving political colours sets my heart on edge, wondering if the cocoon will never open for the common good.

  3. Orange was my all time favorite color for years – teens through my twenties. And then…not. It is full of energy though. I like how you describe it here (and what a gorgeous image!). Transformation and promise. Perhaps I’ll give it another look 🙂
