Drawn to trees
ink chasing lines
yearning for definition
How to capture
strength…beauty…
such profound calm
Even as the regal Walnut
towers over this place
she dwells within me
I know
I feel her
she seeks expression
My Tree of Life.
(In Response to Eugi’s Weekly prompt: Tree of Life. I have been obsessed with drawing trees. The featured image is the beginning of a series that keeps drawing me in. Others in the series below.)
Beautiful post. A piece of art.

V.J. wow! The colours and patterns you have used are wonderful. The poem itself really connected me to the moment and the line “she dwells within me” hit so hard. That connection with nature is so strong.

Trees are wonderful. I often wonder what the big old trees remember. I really like your drawings, too.

Wonderful poem and artwork!! I love trees as well! They come out of the earth with twisted and gnarled roots and reach for the sky with branches wide and welcoming. 🤗

I love your trees and your poem!
Love the abstract design and the colors.
Now, what I really find interesting is that I have been “thinking” of drawing and coloring trees! I have not done this other than in my head, but I think about this a lot.

There you go, Betty – incentive! My trees are still haunting me, so not done yet, but satisfying to get down on paper. Thanks.

GORGEOUS imagery! You say “drawing” – what media is this? Colors are so vibrant.
I’m drawn in by the geometry, and especially that door in the bottom image – oooo, to go up to that door and knock gently …
(Great lyrics as well, btw.)

Thanks Jazz. I do the original in ink, thus a drawing. The practice is really calming. Ric bought me a set of art markers – not sure as I threw out the container. This is my stress release.
