Inessential am I
ghost of a woman
burden avoidance
Imperfect am I
each flaw a step
towards deepening blue
And yet, I exist
purpose unknown
shadow dancing.

Once again, your word choice is so effective, “each flaw a step / towards deepening blue” as well as the whole concept of “shadow dancing”. Such a succinct and inspired poem. Love it!

That unknown purpose perhaps keeps us going! Existential angst so well articulated, V.J.
That self portrait is excellent.

The self-portrait and the poem work so well together to convey that sense of who-am-I-and- why am I here.

Thanks so much V. While I believe too, there are days it all seems so murky.

Yes! This poem is everything. The last stanza grabs hold of my existential existence. You are an expert with words; I always learn something from reading your poetry.
