How many years
slavery raping rights
before laws catch up?
How many years
fears and prejudices persist
until humanity catches up?

We must do what we can and realize the just like with every other type of systemic brokenness we need a higher power to help us walk the path to recovery.

There has to be deliberate and transparent change! We can’t keep sweeping these issues under the rug. Archaic mindsets need not be in today’s world.

One of the ironies for me is that hatred and willful ignorance take so much psychic energy to maintain and perpetuate.

I agree. I think of that often – what’s in it for the hater? Surely peace and the reward of expanding one’s circle is worth being open.

I wish there were answers to these questions. But in the meantime we need to keep asking and insisting on answers that trigger change. Time is of the essence.

Humanity has been the slowest to catch up. Perhaps, we are all guilty to a certain extent when we nurse a bias against certain elements or personalities, not necessarily racial.

Good point. We cling to ideas – right or wrong.

I appreciate your word VJ. 400 years and it’s still going on. When is this country going to wake up and change? Hate should never be tolerated. 😢

Is it hate or ignorance? Thanks Christine.

Did you know today is National Indigenous eoples Day in Canada? It kind of relates. Not slavery per say but certainly discrimination and theft. I wrote a post on it yesterday.
Well written V.J.

What we did to our indigenous peoples equates with genocide. I didn’t note the date, but yes this applies. Thanks Jen.
