Oh, the plans I make –
swept up in sudden quietude –
art, writing, books to read –
creativity leaps with excitement
And yet, there is a somber tone
ringing in my head – an anxious
whirring – reframing solitude
as social aberration…
And in this dance of light and dark
how shall I weave the threads
braid together a semblance of order
find a balance I can live with?
(Inspired by the prompting of Reena’s Exploration Challenge: quarantined thoughts. Image my own.)
You just said what I just felt
Very deep and very true
This what exactly every person feeling in this quarantine season
Wonderfully wrapped up 👏

That “anxious whirring” doesn’t allow much to be accomplished! Will we find a balance eventually? So thought-provoking and it truly resonates, V.J.

This whole timeframe is becoming a social aberration. Fear and distrust have driven wedges in relationships.

I believe many of us feel the same way, VJ. I find it hard to focus on what I should be doing because of all that is happening. Take care. ❤️

Thanks Eugi. It will be good to feel some ‘normalcy’ again, whatever that will look like.

Expresses my experience too I wish I could live more grounded in my body.. my head gets into spins a lot..and most books on that ‘to read’ pile remain unread. ❤

This poem puts into such perfect words where my head is at… “an anxious whirring”: exactly. Ending with a question for which there is no answer yet. Each of us will be searching for who knows how long and each answer will be different. But it is a comfort to know we are not alone in the search.

I was going to declutter and purge and organize and and and…
I didn’t do it all. Distractions and worry peppered by interruption and excuses.
What can I say? I’m my own worst enemy. 🙂
