Discontentment –
that restless inability
to surrender to distraction –
not easily masked
Wired, I am, for intrigue –
a dramatic actor displaying
mystery, baiting an audience
Denial dons noise-cancelling
headphones, blinders –
invested in illusions
Harmony the end-goal –
no point disguising,
discontentment ignored.
(Forgo the Mask originally appeared here Dec, 2018. I am linking it up to Eugi’s Causerie Weekly Prompt: harmony. Image my own.)
Really was intrigued by those middle stanzas!

So interesting that this was 2018. A prophetic poem.

I wonder if writing poems is a bit like dreaming, as there is always an element of prophecy in dreams.

Maybe. There was a time when I stopped writing for a while because I wrote about a woman named Sue who had breast cancer and then my friend who coincidentally had the name Sue got breast cancer.

It’s unnerving isn’t it? And yet we are, at some level all connected, and intuition is a valid part of our experience.

Much jumps out at me here – as the owner of often used noise cancelling headphones. And how interesting that this was from 2018 – title and all from “before” this current world wide mess.

Maybe my years housebound were a training ground, lol. Thanks Andrea. I only now just realized the significance of the title.

You’re welcome. Yes, maybe it was training in a bizarre twist of fate. I doubt it makes it much easier though.

It doesn’t. I was just building up my life again. Argggh

Argggh is right. The old “many steps forward and many steps back” scenario. Again.
