Creativity is a beast
hungers for expression
Ego set limitations
mocks imperfection
At best, I parody talent
nefarious my efforts
Still, I must
feed the beast.

This is fantastic piece on writing. I really think that’s where good writing begins: “I parody talent”. We attempt to imitate or honor the greats, and from there we eventually take pieces of all sorts of art mediums that allow us to find our own voice. But I think you’re right too in the “beast to feed”. Writing is personal but it seems there is also something outside of us that must connect to it or transform it.

You honour me with your insights – glad my poem spoke to you so and we resonate.

Wow didn’t realize you had painting as a talent too! Gorgeous and the words went so well with it.

The beast is insatiable, and that’s just how I like it. I love the image. It’s a raptor of some kind?

It’s an osprey. I caught him having lunch. He wasn’t too pleased with me, lol.

And then you splashed his photo all over the Internet. He must be really mad now. 😉

Please do keep feeding your creativity “beast” … (and perhaps give a scrunch between its ears)

Haha – that might be the better approach.

If you let the beast get too hungry, it will start squawking for attention. Lovely digital art, V.J. 🙂 You have a very artistic eye. ❤

Thanks Heather. The image is actually a photo altered to look like art. Wish my brush was that talented, lol.

ah, well photography of such is a talent in itself, and I’ve seen some of what you do with a brush, do not underestimate yourself!
