Creativity Delves Too Deep

Creativity lands in unfamiliar,
communicates with the unknown –
unformed connections invite themselves in

I am open

Religiosity emerges from the crypt –
impoverished, depraved, and hungry –
overwhelmed, I am embarrassed, enraged –
should not have let my guard down.

Permission to write, paint, and imagine are the gifts I gave myself when chronic illness hit - a fair exchange: being for doing. Relevance is an attitude. Humour essential.

  1. I especially love the 3 opening lines–WOW. Not sure I got the drift of the religiosity part…but if I ever sound like I’m preaching at you, please alert me, as that’s not my heart’s intent.

    1. I never get that from you and I honour your faith. This poem came from a dream, which dredged up memories from childhood. It’s complicated, lol.

      1. Ahh yes…dreams do dredge up stuff. I think satan has a special corp of minions who work the night-shift. O for peace-unimpeded sleep!! I’ve gotten into a habit of going to bed later and later, hoping to escape the dream hours…probably not healthy, but nightmares give a rough start to the day.

      2. Happy to make you laugh, VJ! Early this a.m. I got my weekly fix of Rick Mercer (reruns)–there’s almost nothing he can’t cure, at least temporarily 🙂 🙂

      3. Truly he is–as much as I enjoy my “church” programs, my spirits are as easily lifted by Rick (and sometimes more so) 🙂
