Does the caterpillar question,
eek out the significance of each
puzzling piece, self-impose standards,
before submitting to transformation?
Why then, must I tear at each segment,
consume myself with riddles,
delete pieces of the whole,
in order to fit a mould?
Am I not just part of some divine
journey, tied to a destiny in which
I, too shall find the metaphorical wings
to soar – and why, then, should I question?
(Written for Willow Poetry’s Challenge: What Do You See? Featured image is the prompt.)
I love this analogy, V.J. and you soaring with “metaphorical wings”. Lovely interpretation of this very interesting graphic.

Ah! The questioning mind…always looking for an anwer, even when there is none. It just is, as it’s supposed to be. Unfolding of life. It’s interesting that sometimes the answer comes without asking the question. Is that a miracle, like the metamorphosis of a caterpillar?

“Why?” is the question at the root on so many of our anxieties and depressions. Caterpillars are surely never worried or sad…great response to the prompt!

“Why question?” has to be THE question of all time … no satisfactory answers to date, though lots of stabs at it.

Must be in our DNA, lol. Thanks Jazz.

Yes V.J. Why do we question everything? If only we could trust the process … I loved this poem 🙂💕

Why do we question so? Trusting the divine journey requires a lot of faith.
Thank you for your timely poem and questions V.J.
Just today I have been asking my husband…what’s it all about…
he only has a few hours or days left, whichever way he decides to play it. Sigh
