The knight’s bravado
is all well and good, until
the dragon wakens.

Fascinating because our current dying heroic ego age is not able to vanquish dragons it cant make friends with.. its something Marion Woodman addressed in depth.<3

Interesting. Just as an aside, Marion hails from my hometown, and I had the opportunity to study with her briefly. At the end of her life she lived in the same nursing home as my mom – across the hall.

oh my I just adore her so much. When I first got sober and on my healing path I devoured all her books. I know she died recently. what a lovely synchronicity…. ❤

What form did your studies take? So interesting…

At university, I studied dream therapy. She and her brother Fraser Boa offered a course entitled “The Way of the Dream” which I took.

How brilliant. I am sure you learned so much from it. Dreams are so powerful……

They sure are. I have been following mine ever since and facilitated workshops for over 20 years.

I tend these days to let them slip through my fingers more than I used to. At one point I was remembering and writing them down. Key dreams have been both pivotal and prophetic for me too. Sometimes I believe the psyche pre-informs us of things coming to pass but I am sure you know even more about it than I do….thanks for sharing all that with me.

Yes!! I was just talking about this – this morning! Caroline Myss, medical intuitive, refers to “the dragon” as our reptiles. Jeez Louise VJ. You are good! 😀

What happens when the dragon wakes up…Oh knight, run for your life! 🤣
Splendid haiku, a full story in 3 simple lines.

Thank you. I wrote a longer poem, then challenged myself to cut it back.

Your response brought me back to a time in my life when I had to tell every detail whenever I related experiences to my “then” spiritual teacher. I was sure that if I did not include all the details my point would not be understood. One day as I was going through the whole…long…detailed story…he stopped me and said:”You know that you don’t have to go through all those details, just tell me what happened.”

Well you’ve learned it well. That’s ironic.

I did not like being told that. I felt the details were important. Not all the time, but for some stories it was very important.

My father used to say: “Page one, page two…” whenever I started talking. In other words, “Don’t drag this out”, lol
