Test of Character

The knight’s bravado
is all well and good, until
the dragon wakens.

Permission to write, paint, and imagine are the gifts I gave myself when chronic illness hit - a fair exchange: being for doing. Relevance is an attitude. Humour essential.

    1. Interesting. Just as an aside, Marion hails from my hometown, and I had the opportunity to study with her briefly. At the end of her life she lived in the same nursing home as my mom – across the hall.

      1. I tend these days to let them slip through my fingers more than I used to. At one point I was remembering and writing them down. Key dreams have been both pivotal and prophetic for me too. Sometimes I believe the psyche pre-informs us of things coming to pass but I am sure you know even more about it than I do….thanks for sharing all that with me.

  1. What happens when the dragon wakes up…Oh knight, run for your life! 🤣
Splendid haiku, a full story in 3 simple lines.

      1. Your response brought me back to a time in my life when I had to tell every detail whenever I related experiences to my “then” spiritual teacher. I was sure that if I did not include all the details my point would not be understood. One day as I was going through the whole…long…detailed story…he stopped me and said:”You know that you don’t have to go through all those details, just tell me what happened.”

      2. I did not like being told that. I felt the details were important. Not all the time, but for some stories it was very important.
