Past Ripe

Fertile is love –
an ancient fruit tree
soft and up-giving

were life root
almost too wet –
moony world

Secret:  I wither,
am stone berry –
no rain at lake

walk bucolic earth
follow winter cover
shed colour

watcher,
will live,
do.

Permission to write, paint, and imagine are the gifts I gave myself when chronic illness hit - a fair exchange: being for doing. Relevance is an attitude. Humour essential.

      1. I’ve tried it a couple times…with little magic in my results. Maybe it’s the season to try, try again 🙂

      2. My efforts felt and sounded forced, lacking the natural rhythm I normally feel. But I’m willing to try again one of these days 🙂

    1. Well that brought a tear to my eye – the words, yes, and the fact that I am certain you channeled my dear friend Nadine in sending me this song. She loved Leonard. I lost her last year to cancer. Thank you, Ivor. This means a lot.

      1. Oh a pure coincidence, but I think sometimes things happen for a reason. Yes one of my fav’ songs too. I always think of Carole too. Leonard Cohen’s words in his songs are always so true and touching, may all the sweetest of memories fall on you
