Blame It On the Moon

Lethargic, you say –
it is the moon’s withdrawal
that compels this wane –
the current that runs between
defying gravity, depleting –
no sense in fighting
such elemental flow –
total submission is key.

(Written for Reena’s Exploration Challenge: moon; Ragtag Community’s: key; and Fandango’s: lethargic.)

Permission to write, paint, and imagine are the gifts I gave myself when chronic illness hit - a fair exchange: being for doing. Relevance is an attitude. Humour essential.

  1. You pulled me right into the moon’s cycle. Did you know that tonight is the biggest, brightest super moon of 2019? I checked it out last night at moonrise and again this morning at moonset. It was already bright and big but tonight is supposed to be even brighter and bigger. (It really will be the same size just closer to earth.) I’ve read that the best time to view it is right at moon rise which is around 6:22 EST for me in MI. I wish a clear evening for super moon viewing for you.
