Growling Funk

Put this corduroy cat out,
give her only fish-eyed dirt –
it is moister than green grass,
less porcelain to devour.

Bleed the soft morning air
See eternity throb
Listen, dance, surround joy

Go! Do young night growl –
delicious, ferocious, wet heart.

Permission to write, paint, and imagine are the gifts I gave myself when chronic illness hit - a fair exchange: being for doing. Relevance is an attitude. Humour essential.

  1. such a delightful play of words, I love the use of unusual pairing of words that make more sense than ordinary phrases. this one is really a shadow of the real world we live in. I do like this one very much

      1. really? i very seldom edit my writing, its from the notebook I carry around straight to wordpress or wherever else I am writing, I admire the pains you take to create.

      2. haha! no experience just very reckless and a little lazy! the crafting of writing is a good point of discussion though, we do need some reflection on some of the poems or prose we write.
