A Sail Called Hope

Sail erected,
call it ‘Hope’

Location
dialed in

Saboteurs
asleep

Done with
party persona,
inalterable
generalities

Ready to cater
to the awake

Willing to believe
in dreams

There’s a calm
opening, and

Sail is erected,
call it ‘Hope’.

Permission to write, paint, and imagine are the gifts I gave myself when chronic illness hit - a fair exchange: being for doing. Relevance is an attitude. Humour essential.

  1. I enjoyed the imagery of your poem, and yes hoist the sail, there is always hope. .. And I’d like to thank you for following my blog/website, muchly appreciated, I hope you enjoy reading my humble writings, and I’m from Geelong, Australia. I’m very interested in your “Dream Along With Me”… most of poems are generated through my dreams. Cheers. Ivor

    1. Thanks Ivor. I too write to keep my mind alert, to stay connected- enjoyed your ‘mission statement’. Dreams provide fodder for my poems as well – never-ending source

  2. Lovely poem, and I like how the first stanza repeats at the end with a slight change of wording – and it gives the impression that hope does come round if we take our chances and move along. Lovely painting at the top too 🙂
